29 Students in Search of a future.
Emma Guerra Arguero is an inspiration. . She's teaches of 29 students, Grades 1 - 6, in one room in a and isolated country school in El Lindero, Guanajuato, Mexico. The village is registered as "La Carrera Contra El Hambre" - one of the poorest in Mexico. In their homes the students sleep up to 10 in one room. Emma has become part of the community. She's started a vegetable garden to increase the protein intake of the students, and she's encouraged the mothers to cook a nutritious lunch at the school for the children.
She encourages her bright students, like 9 year old Maricela, who wants to be a doctor, to apply for scholarships to help pay education fees. The father of some other students is diabetic, and recently had to spend time in hospital. When he returned home his property was a mess, but he needed dialysis so it needed to be bacteria free. So Emma declared a day of 'Solidarity' and the students went and diligently cleaned the property. (Sadly Pablo, the father, died a month later). This is an inspirational film about a Mexican teacher and her 29 students, who are all in search of a future.
